Here at Complete Care Services you can be sure we have the right domiciliary care support workers for you, we have a wide variety of support workers of different ages, nationalities, backgrounds and gender. Every single one of them has been fully vetted to ensure they are of the highest integrity; we ensure this by having rigorous recruitment and selection polices and procedures. Each member of our home care staff has:
- Filled in a detailed application form
- Undergone a detailed interview
- Had two references from previous employment
- Been police checked by the Criminal Records Bureau
Once employment commences every member of our home care staff undertakes a detailed induction which cover the Skills for Care Induction Programme. This induction covers both the theory and practical aspects of the home care support worker job role.
Throughout employment all staff carry out a varied and comprehensive training programme, which includes Load Management, Medication Administration, Safeguarding Adults, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Food Hygiene and First Aid. Home care support workers are also given the opportunity to work towards formal qualifications including Diplomas in Health and Social Care where appropriate.
Due to the nature of domiciliary care it is sometimes necessary to undertake further training such as peg feeding and palliative care, these are done to ensure we meet the exact needs of our customers. I have worked for Complete Care Services for 3 years, I hadn't worked in care before, but I had dealt with different aspects of care in my personal life, I felt very nervous and wasn't at all confident when I first started. The management at Complete Care Services have been excellent employers in supporting and guiding me in every aspect of my role as a community carer, offering me all the training I needed to progress and to give good quality care to the service users I visited.
Whilst at Complete Care Services I have completed my NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 3 in health and social care, I have also done English Literature and palliative care courses, the management team have been very supportive of me and whenever I felt unsure or didn't feel confident, they were always there to offer encouragement and support.
I can honestly say that not once did I feel like I couldn’t turn to them for help of any kind, even on the short courses I have done like epilepsy awareness, moving and handling and medication administration. In the last 14 months I have been promoted to Care Quality Support Worker, which means I am now working in the office 3 days a week as well as going out in the community to care for the service users.
In my role as Care Quality Support Worker I meet with new service users to do all the relevant assessments and together we will build a care plan that meets all their needs and requirements. Again the management team gave me the appropriate training to be able to carry out the assessments correctly. I also go with other carers to services users houses to supervise them and ensure they are carrying out all the tasks correctly and safely.
Throughout my 3 years at complete care services I have found all the staff to be helpful, supportive and understanding, I have progressed and achieved so much since I have been here. Complete Care Services gives people the opportunity to develop their skills and gives them the confidence to be able to provide the best standards of care, it also gives people the opportunity to develop their skills.
